They met on social media, Madi told me in her email…but it wasn’t until Josiah made the trek up to Yakima for their first date that things started to get serious. Fast forward almost a year and a handful of months later, and Josiah proposed to Madi in what will always be one of the most endearing proposals ever made.
For their wedding, Madi and Josiah wanted to do things a little differently. Rather than having a traditional ceremony, they decided to elope in the mountains with those closest to them, and have their reception at home later that week.
August 14th, the day of their elopement, was a smoky yet serene morning at Rattlesnake Lake. As their closest friends placed a hand over them and prayed for their marriage, everything in the world seemed so still, almost as if nature itself realized the gravity of the moment at hand. Shortly after Madi and Josiah said their vows to one another, friends and family congratulated the happy couple before they departed on a 4.3 mile trek up Rattlesnake Ridge.
Madi and Josiah – This day was one as both a photographer, & a Christian, I will never forget. The deep love you have for not only one another but your faith is truly inspiring. While the hike we all climbed that day presented many challenges along the way, your metaphor for the climb was something I pray you always remember and cling to as life continues to move forward. I know you two have such a beautiful journey ahead of you, and I thank you so incredibly much for allowing me to play a small part in your love story.
