This blog post has been a long time coming, and is the first in my three, potentially four part series on Ireland.
If you follow me on social media, you know that I flew to Ireland back in March with Jenna and Katie for a girls week to take in the country and get creative. Starting off in Dublin we headed to Galway, popped down to Doolin, headed further south to stay the night in Ballyseed Castle, (yes the place Kaitlyn Bristowe stayed in the Bachelorette — and yes the exact same suite she did as well), and then back on over to Dublin.
On our way back to Dublin we wound up stopping at a place called The Rock of Dunamase (built in the 9th century) which might look familiar because it was actually filmed in the movie Leap Year. While Hollywood definitely put a CG effect on the castle ruins, I’ve got to say I prefer the view we witnessed in real life. Unlike the movie, there is no train station near by, just gorgeous castle ruins on top of a hill, overlooking country land.
Katie jumped into the Sarah Seven Bronte dress we brought with us and pranced around the ruins, which we practically almost had to ourselves. Truth be told it was probably one of the most inspiring places I’ve shot to date.
